Truly random
Passwords come from the browser's cryptographic generator, not from a predictable formula.
Your rules
Choose the length and the character sets: lowercase, uppercase, numbers and symbols.
Strength you can see
The entropy in bits tells you how strong the password is before you use it.
No confusing characters
Exclude 0, O, l, 1 and I so the password is easy to read and type when you need to.
How to use it
01
Set the length
Sixteen characters is a good default; go longer for the accounts that matter most.
02
Pick the characters
Turn symbols or uppercase on or off to match what the site accepts.
03
Copy it
One click copies the password; paste it into your password manager.
Is the password sent anywhere?
No. It is generated and shown in your browser only; nothing is sent to a server or stored.
How long should a password be?
At least 12 characters, and 16 or more for email, banking and anything that protects other accounts.
What is entropy?
A measure of how many guesses an attacker would need. Each extra character and each extra character set raises it; above 80 bits is strong for any online account.
Where should I keep the password?
In a password manager, which remembers it for you and fills it in. Never reuse one password across sites.
